Come and enjoy a relaxing weekend of canoeing or kayaking down the beautiful River Wye. The stunning Wye Valley has something to offer everyone with its beautiful rolling hills, picturesque towns and villages and fantastic selection of hotels, B&B's, campsites and restaurants. Leftbank canoe hire operates along the entire length of the river from Glasbury all the way down to Monmouth enabling many of our regular visitors to come back year after year yet always experience something new.
Day 1
Glasbury - Highest navigable point on the river in normal summer conditions.
Hay on Wye - Famous for its book shops and a great place for lunch on your first day.
Toll bridge Whitney - Choice of 2 campsites for your first evening and both within walking distance to the local pub
Day 2
Whitney to Preston - Many people consider this to be one of the most enjoyable sections on the River Wye. A slightly more remote and wild feeling stretch which will require stocking up on all the essentials before you set off.
You will be making your way to your next overnight stay at the Wye Camp Here campsite in Preston on Wye, great for both large and small groups. The Yew Tree Pub is only a 15 minute walk up the road.
Day 3
Your final stretch leads you down into the Market town of Hereford, a great place to finish your trip with great tourist attractions and good transport links all over the UK.
Day 1/2
Depending on your time of departure today you could either have a gentle paddle to the Lucksal camping and caravan park for your first night or potentially push on the full 18 miles down to Hoarwithy.
Hoarwithy campsite is a popular stop off for many canoe groups and with the addition of the village pub 300 metres from the river it makes a good place to spend a sunny summers evening.
Day 3
Your final day is spent enjoying the quiet stretch of the river that flows down into Ross-on-Wye. End your weekend at the Hope and Anchor with a refreshing pint and maybe even a Sunday roast.
There are many other Weekends of adventure available on the River Wye, for more information give us a call and let us put together your perfect weekend.
